ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP: The N.A.H.S.E. CT Education Scholarship was developed to promote the advancement of Black healthcare leaders across the state of Connecticut, defray costs of higher education, and reduce financial barriers. A scholarship of $3,000 will be awarded to one graduate student each year who meets the eligibility requirements. In addition to the scholarship, the recipient will receive one year of N.A.H.S.E. membership and will be be provided registration to the 2024 N.A.H.S.E. Educational Conference. The scholarship recipient will be paired with a Connecticut based executive leader for mentoring for one year.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Applicant must have a permanent address in Connecticut or attend graduate school in Connecticut

  2. Applicant must be enrolled during the 2024-2025 academic year in a healthcare administration, public health, or equivalent program, as verified by a transcript, acceptance letter or other enrollment verification

  3. Applicant’s grade point average (GPA) must be at least a 3.0 from any graduate courses taken

ApplicaTION COMPONENTS

  1. Current resume that includes education, employment history, awards, and extracurricular activities

  2. One page personal statement (single spaced, 12 point font) discussing your interest in healthcare, a major healthcare issue facing communities of color and your proposed solution to that issue

  3. College or university transcripts
